Last December in Spartanburg, Wofford shocked USC 68-61 at the Ben Johnson Arena displaying the talents that would lead the Terriers to the Southern Conference Championship and their first NCAA Tournament bid. Saturday night in Columbia, a fired up bunch of Gamecocks got their revenge with a 64-53 win before an announced crowd of 8813 at the Carolina Life Arena.

The Gamecocks played with an edge in this one as they won their sixth straight game overall and seventh straight home game.  They held the Terriers to just seven first half field goals in building a 12 point halftime lead.  At times, emotion got the better of the players.  Four technical fouls were whistled, two on each team.

USC basketball coach Darrin Horn has discussed with senior forward Sam Muldrow the possibility of redshirting this season a source said Tuesday night.  The Gamecocks are facing a transition season after the departures of Devan Downey and Dominique Archie and likely will be forcast to finish last in the SEC East.

The source said Horn would like to hold Muldrow back a season so  he’ll have a season to play with transfer Murphy Holloway who has to sit out this season.  Muldrow, the source said, is agreeable to the redshirt idea.

Muldrow started all 31 games last season and averaged over 10 points and 6 rebounds per game.
