USC wraps up ho-hum Garnet and Black game

Connor Shaw had a serviceable day running the offense

The 2011 version of the Garnet and Black game is in the books. An announced crowd of 30,000 watched the Garnet team beat the Black team 21-17 at Williams-Brice Stadium. So if you took the Garnet team -3 ½ with your “guy” you are feeling good right now.

As far as spring games go, this was pretty run of the mill. Connor Shaw looked average during his work as the first team quarterback. He completed 17 of his 27 passes for 176 yards and one touchdown. A few of the drives he led stalled inside the ten yard line.
