Parker opened by addressing why he opted not to speak with the media following the Tigers 29-7 loss to USC Saturday night.

“First of all I want to apologize I didn’t come and talk to anyone after the game,” Parker said.  To be quite honest with you, I felt I couldn’t have said anything to make the situation any better.  I thought the questions I was going to get asked and the explanations that I was feeling at the time wouldn’t have done anyone justice or really done good for anyone, including myself.”

Pondering Ponder and the sack attack

Tigers defense oustanding of late

As they prepare for Saturday night’s game at Florida State, Clemson players on both sides of the line have plenty to think about.  The defensive guys have to prepare for the ACC’s #2 scoring offense.  The Seminoles average nearly 34 points per game, and it’s a balanced attack…214 yards per game thru the air, 196 on the ground.  they are converting 50% of their their down attempts.

Quarterback Christian Ponder is third in the ACC in passing effeciency, but he has an elbow injury that required draining yesterday.  Of course, Ponder was injured in last year’s loss at Clemson when he attempted to tackle DeAndre McDaniel on an interception return.  The Clemson defense is playing at a very high level right now having allowed just four touchdowns over the last four games.  The Tigers lead the ACC in scoring defense at 17.6 points per game.
