The NFL’s week one slew of Sunday games has come and gone, and the Panthers, at the very least, have something to talk about.  Top overall draft pick, Cam Newton, was impressive in his debut for Carolina.  He threw for over 400 yards, but the Panthers still lost to the Cardinals 28-21 in Arizona.  All season long we’ll welcome in Panthers lay-by-play man, Mick Mixon, to give us his thoughts.

SportsTalk Rewind 8.02.11: Panthers’ Ron Rivera

The lockout is finally over, and the first week of helmets and pads is upon us.  The new look Carolina Panthers started practice this week.  The Panthers made some serious noise in the lockout lengthened off-season by drafting Cam Newton with the first overall pick in April, re-signing star RB DeAngelo Williams, and acquiring ”The U” TE duo, Jeremy Shockey and Greg Olsen.  Most importantly, all this offseason movement has seemingly made disenfranchised franchise WR Steve Smith a little more cozy in Charlotte.

New Panthers Head Coach, Ron Rivera, spoke with the media today to address the offseason, and give his first impressions.
