We caught up with former USC defensive coordinator Ellis Johnson this afternoon on SportsTalk First Edition on our affiliate 560 The Team in Columbia. Johnson is back in the Palmetto State tying up some lose ends and he continues the transition into the head coaching job at Southern Miss. Johnson was hired by Southern Miss in December, replacing Larry Fedora as the Goldern Eagles head man. The team won 10 games last season.
Take a listen to the interview below to find out how Johnson is adjusting to his new gig, how he plans to lean on his staff members, many of which have ties to this state, and how he thinks Lorenzo Ward will do in his old job at USC.
