Recruiting Report 2.29.12

QB Christian Hackenberg of Fork Union, VA committed Wednesday to Penn State.  Hackenberg also had an offer from USC, the only quarterback USC has offered to this point.

RB Wayne Gallman (6-1 196) of Atlanta confirmed that Clemson continues to lead for his services. He did pull back on the reigns a little, however. “They’re still my favorite for right now,” Gallman said. “I haven’t visited some other schools but I do like them a lot. They are recruiting me hard.” His offers include Clemson, USC, North Carolina, Ole Miss, Auburn, Georgia, Georgia Tech and Vanderbilt. “My top five are Clemson, Georgia, Oklahoma, Florida State and Wisconsin…even though I don’t have offers from all of them,” he said. As for USC he said, “I’m interested in them but I’ve never visited. I’ll wait to see what it’s like before I talk about them.” Currently Gallman runs track limiting his time to take visits but he did say he would like to attend spring practices and games at Clemson, Georgia and Auburn. No visit to USC is yet scheduled but he does plan to attend several camps this summer. “I’m not really sure which schools I’ll camp at,” Gallman said. He did visit Clemson and Georgia earlier this year.
