The USC basketball team is coming off of a 4 point loss to Ole Miss down in Oxford over the weekend, but seemingly found some things in which they can build upon. The Gamecocks are still vying for their first league road victory and will get another shot Thursday night when they make their way down to Gainesville to take on the Gators.
Today Gamecock Head Coach, Darrin Horn, caught up with the media to preview the matchup with the Gators.
T.J. Burrell
Here at SportsTalk, we are continuing our coverage leading up to National Signing Day by catching up with as many recruits as possible. Tonight we talked with Goose Creek standout linebacker T.J. Burrell, a Clemson recruit, about the recruiting process and his decision to join the Tigers.
Burrell is an active and aggressive linebacker with very good feet and pursuit ability. He lacks ideal size, is more of a space/weakside guy that seems to be emerging to defense the spread offense.

On the eve of Signing Day, we continue our coverage of the verbal commitments who will sign their letters of intent with Clemson and USC.
Tonight, we talked with Jordan Diggs, a safety from Fort Myers, Florida, and Island Coast High School.
Diggs, who participated in this year’s Under Armour All-American Game, is the son of former Gamecock linebacker Shed Diggs. Tonight, we spoke with him about his decision to come to Columbia, his relationship with Carolina’s other commitments, and how he fits into the Gamecock defense.
Forrest Koumas
USC closer Forrest Koumas has named as one of 45 closers on the pre-season Stopper of the Year Watch List by the National Baseball Writers Association.
This will be Koumas’ first year in the closer’s role at USC. He was a starter last season while Matt Price earned All American honors as the closer. But Price has moved into the rotation for his junior season and Koumas will be in the bullpen.
Koumas was 6-1 with a 2.96 ERA last season. He started in 12 of his 19 appearances and struck out 63 batters in 73 innings.
Jennings suspended
Clemson junior Milton Jennings has been suspended
indefinitely for failure to comply with the team’s academic standards,
Head Coach Brad Brownell announced Monday.
Jennings, who did not make the
trip to the University of Virginia with the team for Tuesday’s game, is
averaging 8.9 points and 5.4 rebounds per game on the season.
