NCAA clears USC freshman WR Damiere Byrd

USC  freshman wide receiver Damiere Byrd has been cleared to play in Saturday’s game against Auburn, according to the NCAA student-athlete reinstatement staff.

“I can’t begin to tell you how happy I am for Damiere,” said Athletics Director Eric Hyman. “Our folks in the department worked tirelessly to address the issues they encountered with Damiere’s situation. With the NCAA’s cooperation, we were able to resolve the issues in a timely manner that will allow him to play on Saturday.”

USC-UNC basketball game gets late night ESPN2 slot

The highly anticiapted battle between the USC and North Carolina basketball teams (at least among Gamecock fans longing to face their old ACC rival) will be played November 25th at 10:00 ET in Las Vegas.  ESPN2 will provide the television coverage.   This game is one of 29 televised matchups featuring USC this season. 

Here is a portion of the USC release:

Four of Carolina’s non-conference contests will be televised on the ESPN family of networks. South Carolina’s contest versus North Carolina at the Las Vegas Invitational on Nov. 25 will be televised on ESPN2 at 10 p.m. ET; Carolina’s Dec. 1 contest versus Providence will be televised on ESPNU at 7 p.m. ET; the Dec. 4 contest at Clemson has been picked up for a 3:30 p.m. ET broadcast on ESPNU and South Carolina’s Dec. 17 contest against Ohio State will be a Noon ET start on ESPN.
