Fifth-year senior Racheed Gause (Conway) has been officially cleared academically to play in the final 10 regular-season games, as well as any post-season games, of the 2010 Coastal Carolina football season.
Gause, who took summer classes through the end of August, was held out of the Chanticleers’ 2010 season opening loss at #24 West Virginia to ensure his status with both the NCAA and University.
“We felt it was better for Racheed to miss this one game and be 100 percent sure of his status, rather than risk him missing more games in the future or affecting the team’s results,” said Director of Athletics Hunter Yurachek. “While we regret Racheed’s status this past weekend was made public, as we respect our student-athlete’s right to privacy, we are excited to continue the season with Racheed.”
