The Citadel Football team worked out for the final practice of fall camp on Tuesday morning. The Bulldogs practiced at Maybank Triplets Practice Facility at Willson Field for two-and-a-half hours in low humidity and temperatures in the upper-70’s.
Coach Kevin Higgins after Day 16:
“We held our second scrimmage of camp this morning. We went live for goal line, short yardage, backed up and overtime situations.”
“We ended with another live session between three vs. three as well as one vs. one and two vs. two. The tempo was very good and our guys played with more emotion. The play of seniors Bobby Jarvis and Lincoln Kling are critical to our success on offense.”
“Our defensive line has been playing well. Eric Clanton and Chris Billingslea are big, athletic ends.”
“Alexander Wall, our back up punter has begun working as the number one holder.”
“We will have meetings this afternoon and this evening, and officially break camp tonight.
Tomorrow is the first day of classes. We prepped our freshmen last night concerning the challenges that await them. This is a really good freshman class. We are fortunate in that we have not lost any freshmen players that reported for cadre in July”.
The Cadets begin fall classes and their normal schedule on Wednesday with afternoon practices.
