The Citadel Football team worked out on Friday morning at Maybank Triplets Practice Facility at Willson Field. The Bulldogs worked out for two-and-a-half hours in humid conditions in the low-80’s.
Coach Kevin Higgins after Day 13:
“We started practice with a walk through as both sides of the ball introduced new concepts.
Typically, it is three-quarter speed with an emphasis on focusing on assignments. After our 1-on-1 drills, we did a live 1st and 10 scrimmage. Quarterback Ben Dupree broke a run of 40 yards for a touchdown. After that the defense forced three punts.”
“We had a very competitive pass skeleton period between the offense and defense. Several defensive back’s made good plays on the ball. We worked again on our two-minute drill. We are improving in all phases and staying healthy.”
The Citadel will host Meet the Bulldogs on Saturday following a scrimmage at 1:15 p.m. The Bulldogs’ season-opener will take place at home on Saturday, Sept. 4 against Chowan at Johnson Hagood Stadium. Tickets are available in The Citadel ticket office for the 1 p.m. matchup against the Hawks.
