The Citadel Football team worked out in soggy conditions on Monday morning at the Maybank Triplets Practice Facility at Willson Field. The Bulldogs worked out for two-and-a-half hours in muggy conditions in the low-80’s.
Coach Kevin Higgins after Day 9:
“After our first day with no practice, our players came back and worked hard this morning. It was our first opportunity to practice in the rain and I thought the quarterbacks did a good job of handling the ball.”
“You would like to get at least three practices in the rain before your initial game”.
“We also introduced our live open field tackle drill. This drill allows you to evaluate a player’s ability to make a double move and a defender’s ability to shimmy and wrap up in the open field. We ended practice with a two minute drill”.
“Ben Dupree worked with the first team at quarterback and did a good job managing the clock and executing.”
The team will return to practice at Maybank Triplets Practice Facility for their final two-a-day practice on Tuesday at 8 a.m. and 3:15 p.m.
