Holloway to transfer

Murphy Holloway

Murphy Holloway

6-7 Murphy Holloway of Dutch Fork, the 2008 state player of the year, said today he is transferring from Ole Miss so that he can be closer to his young daughter in Columbia and help out his family.  Holloway said he’s undecided about where he will transfer.  USC would be his first choice but Ole Miss coach Andy Kennedy is not likely to release him to another SEC program.  Murphy said he would also be interested in transferring to Clemson.  The Tigers do have a scholarship available for this class.  Holloway made an immediate impact at Ole Miss as a freshman and then started every game this past season averaging over 10 points and 7 rebounds per game.  He will have two years of eligibility remaining after sitting out next season.
