Clemson baseball team upset, USC wins

The 11th ranked Clemson baseball team went on the road and lost 11-10 to Charlotte Tuesday. It is only the second time the Tigers have lost this season. The other loss was against USC at Greenville’s Fluor Field. Kyle Parker hit his 7th home run in the losing cause. The Tigers return home tonight to face Georgia Southern at 6:30.

16th ranked USC blanked Furman 15-0 at Greenville’s  Fluor Field. That makes six straight wins for the Gamecocks.   Scott Wingo drove in four runs and Nolan Belcher picked up his second win of the season. The Gamecocks improve to 12-4 and the Paladins fall to 6-10 this season. Carolina is back on the field tonight at home against Davidson. First pitch is scheduled for 7:00.

In some other action Tuesday, the College of Charleston upset 8th ranked Coastal Carolina 5-4, Winthrop beat Harvard 12-5, VMI edged the Citadel 5-4 and Charleston Southern knocked off USC-Upstate 8-5.

Tonight, Presbyerian plays WoffordVMI is at the Citadel, Savannah State is at Charleston Southern,  and Jacksonville is at the College of Charleston.  You can keep up with all of the baseball scores here.
