Clemson, USC on the rise in latest baseball polls

Clemson’s 4-0 week of baseball that included an ACC sweep of N.C. State has the Tigers moving up in the latest baseball polls. The Tigers are 10th in this week’s Collegiate Baseball ranking and they are 11th in the Baseball America poll. The team is 13-1 heading into tomorrow’s game at Charlotte. The Tigers return home Wednesday to play Georgia Southern and then return to conference play with a three home game series with Virginia Tech that starts Friday.

USC went 5-0 last week and has improved its record to 11-4 overall. The Gamecocks remain 23rd in Collegiate Baseball and are up to 16th in Baseball America. They will play Furman Tuesday at Fluor Field in Greenville and then return home for a Wednesday game with Davidson. SEC play will start Friday in Columbia against Tennessee.

Coastal Carolina remains the highest ranked team in the Palmetto State The Chanticleers are 8th in both the Collegiate Baseball and Baseball America polls. They are 15-2 this season.

Baseball America has Virginia has its number one team.  Collegiate Baseball has Arizona State at the top of its poll.
