Former USC baseball star Hank Small dies

USC two time All American baseball player Hank Small has died at the age of 57.  Small was injured in a fall at his home recently and did not recover.  Small played for the Gamecocks from 1972-75 and earned AA honors in his final two seasons.   Small hit 48 home runs in his career, second most in school history.   Former State newspaper sportswriter Teddy Heffner, who now host a sporstalk show in Columbia, covered Small during his career at USC and talked about the former Gamecock star.

    I am Hank’s bother and wanted to thank you for the kind words that you and Teddy expressed about Hank. Please pass along my appreciatation to Teddy for the things he had to say in the interview that I just found.
