Coastal Carolina has moved up to 8th in both the Collegiate Baseball and Baseball America polls. The Chanticleers are coming off a 4-0 performance in the Baseball at the Beach Tournament in Myrtle Beach over the weekend. Two of those wins were against then 4th ranked UC Irvine.
Baseball America has Virginia as its number one team. Collegiate Baseball has LSU number one.
As for the rest of the state teams, Clemson is 12th in Baseball America and 13th in Collegiate Baseball’s ranking. The Tigers are coming off a weekend sweep against Wright State and are 6-0 this season. They return to action Wednesday at home against Dayton.
USC dropped two of three at 14th ranked East Carolina over the weekend and they fell to 15th in Baseball America and 22nd in Collegiate Baseball. They return to action Tuesday night against Presbyterian. The weather is iffy Tuesday so there is a chance that game could be postponed until Wednesday.
Of course this weekend USC and Clemson will play three games against each other. Friday night at Clemson, Saturday at Fluor Field in Greenville and Sunday in Columbia.
