Miguel Starks
Citadel quarterback Miguel Starks has been charged by Charleston police in connection with an armed robbery. Starks and former Bulldog linebacker Reginald Rice have been charged with armed robbery, first-degree burglary, kidnapping and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime.
Two College of Charleston students were also arrested by the police but neither one is an athlete.
Citadel coach Kevin Higgins released the following statement:
“Like the rest of The Citadel community we are shocked, angry and saddened by the alleged events involving Miguel Starks,” Higgins said. “Senseless does not begin to describe the situation. Miguel is an only child, loved and provided well for by his parents Michael and Sharon. He has many talents and football is just one of them.
“We will continue to cooperate with the investigation in any way that we are asked.”
i honestly believe that m.starks made a mistake. so did reggie. on the other had, if you do the crime you must do the time. As for K.higgins he is the biggest two faced person ive ever met in my life. him releasing that statment was a bunch of bull. he dismissed starks from the team the day before all this bs.
It’s extremely selfish and tragic for this member of corps squad to paint a picture of cadets at The Citadel. We hold ourselves to a very high standard and the majority of corps squad (athletes) are well known to be the worst cadets on campus.
The Citadel does not hold its athletes aka corps squad to the same standard as the regular cadets. This is because the school doesn’t want them to quit and stay playing for the schools team. Let it be known the the corps as a whole is not representative of this idiot. From the moment I saw this kid I thought he was sketchy…yet the system that would otherwise weed out morons like this isn’t applied to him because he was on corps squad. The corps of cadets hates corps squad with a passion because they get so much special treatment while we live the hard life. And The Citadel continues to lower its standards…its sad to say but expect more morons like this because the system is weak now…and its all about money…However just remember as a cadet myself…I love my school…and 99% of us are honorable and high class individuals…please don’t let this tarnish your image of us. Rather if the public DEMAND that the system be strengthened to its once great state and this would never happen. It starts with you, call the school put pressure on Rosa to return this school to its former glory.
