USC first baseman Nick Ebert returns

Good news for the USC baseball team as first baseman Nick Ebert has been declared academically eligible and can return to the team’s lineup.  Ray Tanner announced today that Ebert will be eligible to play this weekend at 18th ranked East Carolina.

Ebert led the Gamecocks with 23 home runs and 72 runs batted in 2009, but he missed the three-game weekend sweep of Duquesne because of his academic status.  Jeffery Jones played in his place and had a great weekend with three home runs and 10 RBI in the series.  It will be interesting to see how Tanner finds ways to get Jones and Ebert at bats.
