Clemson, Coastal Carolina baseball crack poll

I know some of you, me included, are having a hard time believing that baseball season is almost here. Nothing makes me think baseball like a blanket of freezing rain across the state. Nonetheless, Clemson and Coastal Carolina are ranked in the USA Today/ESPN top 25 coaches poll.

Since there are about ten billion college baseball polls out there and each of them tends to rank teams totally different, I think I need to point out that the three polls we subscribe to here at SportsTalkSC.com are Baseball America, Collegiate Baseball and the USA Today/ESPN coaches poll. Even these three can and will get goofy at times (i.e. USC is 10th in Baseball America and unranked in the USA/Today coaches poll) but they are, for the most part the most credible polls.

With that said, Clemson is 15th in the coaches poll and Coastal Carolina is 19th. USC didn’t crack the top 25 but was first in the “others receiving votes” category.

Texas is the top team in the poll.
