South Carolina State running back Will Ford, The Citadel wide receiver Andre Roberts, and Greenwood High graduate Armanti Edwards have been named to the preseason Sports Network FCS All-America first team.
Ford is a senior on the SC State squad and led the MEAC in rushing last year with 1,499 yards. He added 13 touchdowns.
Roberts, a Spring Valley High graduate and senior with the Bulldogs, had 95 catches for 1,334 yards and 14 touchdowns, 24 carries for 94 yards and one touchdown, and 24 punt returns for 461 yards and four touchdowns last season.
Edwards is a senior quarterback at Appalachian State. He threw for 2,902 yards, rushed for 941 more and racked up a Southern Conference-record 41 touchdowns (30 passing, 11 rushing) en route to winning the Payton Award, presented to the nation’s top FCS player.
