A team of high school football all-stars that had Marlboro County linebacker Tariq Edwards and Columbia High safety Chris Payne pounded Canada 41-3 to win the gold medal at the Junior World Championship is Canton, Ohio.
The team is consist of players that are 19 years old or younger. Edwards will play at Virginia Tech next season. Payne has signed with USC but will enroll at a prep school before joining the Gamecocks. The USA team finished the tournament undefeated and won all three of its games by a combined 179-3
